Preparing for the Day Checklist

Here's a simple list of things you can do to help make your loved one's day go a little more smoothly. Feel free to print multiple checklists for each day of the week.

Safety

Be sure all outside doors and windows have secure locks

Remove locks on bathroom doors and closets to avoid accidental lock-ins

Secure cleaning supplies and other household chemicals with child-proof latches

Clearly label all medicines and keep in a locked location

Secure all dangerous items, such as knives, lighters, matches, and guns

Keep the home well lit and remove all tripping hazards, such as area rugs

Bathing

Set water temperature at a comfortable level

Warm up the room and have towels and a robe nearby
